Hello all you readers out there! Sorry I haven't been around in a few days, unfortunately, someone very close to me passed on this week. My hero, my Grandfather, at 91 years old decided it was time.
Grandpa Al was a survivor and a fighter and he fought until Sunday morning when he just and enough. He was the rock in our family. The man we all loved. Not only a war hero, but a hero to us all.
Prisoner of war in WWII for over 5 years, he was part of the Bataan Death March, and told himself repeatedly that they wouldn't take his life, and they didn't. He lived a long, healthy life. Married a wonderful woman. Had two fantastic kids, and five grandchildren. He will be missed. We are grateful for the time we had with him, and will remember the best of times as we try to get through this difficult time.
Rest in Peace Grandpa. I love you.
