I'll get by with a little help from my friends.

When I decided I was going to start blogging, I knew I was going to need a bit of help. In a perfect world, I would start writing and people would find me and I would live happily ever after, blogging away in my apartment all day, the birds singing outside my window, a bajillion unique visitors a day, book deals, clients lining up, but we don't live in that world do we? I decided to grab a copy of Blog Inc by Joy Deangdeelert Cho of Oh Joy!. (I also snatched up copies of Creative Inc & Craft Inc.) Im reading Blog Inc now, and will keep you posted on what I learn!

A few weeks after I decided to give this a go, some of my favorite bloggers announced The Blogcademy. In NYC! Yay!

The Blogcademy is a weekend-long workshop for bloggers who want to push their online presence and businesses to the next level. It is being held over October 20 – 21st, 2012 at Silk Studio in New York City. Taught by three high-profile bloggers, Gala Darling (Gala Darling), Kat Williams (Rock n Roll Bride) and Shauna Haider (Nubby Twiglet), we’ll be covering everything related to blogging strategy, branding and personality you’ve ever wanted to know.

I was in Portland the week before the announcement and ran into NubbyTwiglet at the Doug Fir, so I thought it was all meant to be. Don't worry, I'll tell you all about it in October!
